Drew Barrymore may be best known as an actor and talk show host, but Drew Barrymore has also developed a clear talent for interior design. As she shared with The Wall Street Journal, “Between Pinterest, thrifting and a can of paint, there’s nothing you can’t do.” After spending two years putting that DIY philosophy into practice during a deeply personal, full-scale renovation, she is now selling her wooded Westchester County property. The home is being listed with Compass Real Estate for just under $5 million.

Barrymore, who is also a producer, businesswoman, and entrepreneur, bought the 12-acre estate in Harrison, New York in 2024 for $4.4 million. She then carried out a complete gut renovation, drawing on the design instincts she refined through her Beautiful by Drew homeware line. The result reimagines the 1747-built property with modern upgrades while still preserving its historic character.

Barrymore, who primarily lives in New York City, was looking for a more convenient escape from the hustle and bustle after growing weary of the traffic to and from her former Hamptons home. Less than an hour from the Big Apple, the 12-acre Harrison property fit the bill. “I walked in and I was, like, ‘I know my family’s been here. I know that I have to work on this house. I know that I’m supposed to be doing this,’” the Santa Clarita Diet star told The Wall Street Journal. “It was like a strange, spiritual calling.” But by the time the project—a bigger and more expensive undertaking than expected—was complete, Barrymore’s needs had changed.

And so, the home is returning to market, with its celebrity-appointed interiors ready for a new owner to enjoy them. Spanning 5,600 square feet, the five-bedroom main house opens with a chalet-style foyer with a limestone fireplace, giving way to a window-lined great room with 30-foot-tall ceilings.

Other highlights include a spacious yet cozy dark-wood kitchen, a tomato-red family room with exposed beams, a sunlit conservatory, and bedrooms lined with cheerful hues and patterned wallpaper. A pool house and a separate guest cottage are also found on the wooded grounds. “It’s really like being in your own personal park,” Barrymore told the WSJ. “There are tons of deer. There are pheasants, there are ducks, there are rabbits.”
